Description

1. 5273 FORDWICH KING STREET (north side) Give Ale Cottage TR 1859 27/224 29.9.52. II GV 2. Part of the house has minor-brace roof without purlins of circa 1300, the rest rebuilt late C17 with simple Queen post roof, and is possibly the house for the building of which Thomas Wooton was presented in the Arohdeacon"s Court in 1670 in that it endangered the falling of the churchyard house. Timber-framed with painted brick infilling partly refaced in brick, now painted, Tiled roof. One storey and attics. To the right a half-hipped gable with one sliding sash window over one, half-timbered above ground floor. To the left, a dormer at eaves level with a window of two lights above two windows with segmental arched heads, one of three lights, one of two. Rendered plinth, The east front has three windows, two gabled projections, their flint floor plastered end a pentice between. Plain door. Listing NGR: TR1809059806
