2. These form 2 rectangles to the north and west of the house. They are of red brick and date from the C17. In the north-west corner of the east or smaller rectangle is a doorway with brick pilasters and a cornice over it. In the north-west corner of the west or larger rectangle, which is open on the south side, is a low 4-centred arch that looks like but is not a fireplace. It was probably used for smoking bees out. On the north side of this is a small recess or bee-skipp with pointed head and on the south side of it 9 similar skipps.
