7/437 Everest headstone approx 9m south of the chancel of the Church of St Martin GV II
Headstone. Dated 1776 in memory of members of the Everest family. Upright sandstone slab standing approx 400mm high. Its shaped head is carved with a row of 4 winged cherubs' heads under a cloud. The inscription begins in Gothic lettering and follows in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. It records the deaths of 4 children, Elizabeth, Peter, Hannah and William, in 1775 and 1776.
