HAWKHURST SLIP MILL ROAD TQ 73 SE (north side)
10/436 Primrose Hill 20.6.67 GV II House. 1802 for Francis Ayerst, and much extended mid C20. Rendered, with part tile hung rear wings, with plain tiled roofs. Two storeys on plinth with plat band and paired modillion eaves cornice to hipped roof with stacks to left and to right. Regular fenestration of 3 glazing bar sashes on first floor, and 2 tripartite glazing bar sashes on ground floor with recessed segmental heads. Central panelled door, with traceried rectangular fanlight in Ionic columned porch and with flight of 5 moulded steps. Recessed wings to left and to right, with elevational motifs carried over, and with recessed hips, and hipped rear wings, all later additions. The Ayerst family owned nearby Slip Mill from the C16, and developed this and other adjacent properties early C19.
