FRITTENDEN THE STREET TQ 8040-8140 (north west side)
14/55 Monument to Reverend Edward Moore, about 25 metres south of Church of St Mary GV II Monument to Reverend Edward Moore, erected 1921. Stone. Moulded octagonal stepped base with square pedestal to Cross, the pedestal inscribed with dedi- cation to Edward Moore. Tapering octagonal shaft with finialled and crocketted head bearing 4 ogee headed panels, each with relief scene of saints and Apostles. The main scene (to the west) depicting a crucifixion scene. Moore was vicar and a great benefactor of the church and parish, commissioning R C Hussey to rebuild the Parish Church of St Mary by R C Hussey 1846-8, in which is a memorial window to him, 1891, by W Bucknall and I N Comper.
