II
Dated 1874 on circular carved stone crest set into projecting front porch. Designed by T M Wyatt. Flint faced with bands of yellow brick with dog tooth moulding. The roof is high pitched and tiled. The main block is H-shaped with gables to the end wings. There are picturesque school houses of irregular plan, but matching style and materials at the north-west and at the north-east corners. Tall casement windows with mullions and transoms. South facing circular window in the east gable. Central bell turret on the ridge. Typical of village schools of the period, but exceptionally well built and with distinctive features. Given to the village by the Darnley family.
