HAWKHURST HIGH STREET TQ 7430-7530 (south side)
16/355 Stable block adjoining Marlborough House School 20.6.67 to the west GV II Stable block, now school annexe. Early C18. Red brick and plain tiled roof. Two storeys with plinth, discontinuous plat band and brick eaves cornice to half- hipped roof with stack to rear right. Pedimented projecting centre piece. Six wooden casements on first floor, and 2 glazing bar sashes to right on ground floor with infilled carriage openings to centre and, a later insertion, to left, both with traceried segmental heads, with gauged surround to centre, and both with C20 5-light wooden casements. Attached to the C18 wing of the house by C19 and C20 link-piece.
