Description

TQ 67 41 BRENCHLEY HIGH STREET, BRENCHLEY (east end) 15/96 The Drinking Fountain GV II Drinking fountain. 1911, erected to commemorate the coronation of George V. Freestone. A gabled stone structure, rectangular on plan with stone coping to the gable. A small bowl projects on the south side with an arched recess above inscribed "1911 erected in coronation year". The fountain stands in the small green at the east end of the High Street, opposite the entrance to the church. A piece of historic street furniture in an outstanding village.
