TQ 67 41 BRENCHLEY HIGH STREET, BRENCHLEY (south side) 15/119 John Mileiss headstone about 13m south of the south aisle of the Church of All Saints GV II
Headstone. Mid C18. Portland stone. Headstone with a bi-furcated rounded head and a section of carving in relief above the inscription. The carving shows a cherub with hooved hindquarters blowing the trumpet of doom, a deathshead and death carrying a scythe and hourglass with scrolled leaf decoration to left and right. Inscription commemorates John Mileiss, died 1744, and other members of the family.
