CRANBROOK HIGH STREET TQ 7736 SW & TQ 7736 SE (north side) 9/186 & 10/186 Midland Bank & Phillips' 7.5.63 Outfitters,(formerly listed as MaBON's Garage & The Golden Spaniel) GV II House, now shop pair. C16 with C18 cladding. Timber-framed with stuccoed first floor to front. Plain tiled roof. Very tall ridge stack to left of centre. Continuous jetty over ground floor, now underbuilt. 2 storeys. Irregular fenestration of 5 windows on first floor, glazing bar sashes. 2 C20 double shop fronts on ground floor with inset central doorways. Interior: Sub- stantial timber frame with jowled posts and side purlin queen strut roof. The remains of a lower roof on the inside of the present C16 is puzzling but does not have sufficiently heavy scantling to suggest that it antedates the main roof structure.
