CRANBROOK HIGH STREET TQ 7736 SW & TQ 7736 SE (south side) 9/146 & 10/146 Lloyd's Bank, (formerly 9.6.52 listed as Woodside (Loyd's Bank Ltd)) GV II
Cloth hall, now bank. Late C15, floored in C16, restored in early 1950's. Timber framed on random rubble plinth with restored half timbered and close studded front with some curved braces, of which only a small monority are original timbers. Plain tiled roof with jettied gabled cross wing to left. Carved bargeboards on return gable. Side stack to left on stone-dressed brick chimney breast with off-sets. Jetty to left under gable with moulded bres- summer. 2 storeys. Irregular four window front with 2 windows on both floors under gable, and 2 windows on block to left. Wood-framed lattice casement cross-windows except those on both floors to right, triple, width casements. Doorway in centre, Tudor arched with boarded and ribbed door. Interior: The frame is intact, though heavily restored and the structure is of exceptional interest. The jowls of the wall posts can be seen on the first floor. Heavily roll moulded primary ceiling beams and chamfered second arm ceiling beams with decorated lamb's tongue stops, on ground floor. Low Tudor-arched roll moulded fire surround. Redundant crown post roof with side purlins and ties from side purlins to collar purlin. Collar purlin crown post roof over solar.
