                            GOUDHURST                      CLAYHILL TQ 73 NW      (south east side)
5/141                                                      Clayhill -                                                     II House.  Early C17 altered C18.  Timber-framed and tile hung as red brick ground floor, in part in English Bond. Symmetrical 2 cell lobby entry plan.  Two storeys and garret and basement an on plinth, with large, moulded central stack.  Regular fenestrations of 2 three-light wooden casements on each floor, with central 2 light casement on 1st floor, and central door of 2 panels with moulded flat hood. Catslide outshot to rear, and basket-arched basement opening to right return.  A brick to left of front door inscribed: IC 1764.
