Description

LAMBERHURST HIGH STREET TQ 6636-6736 (south east side) 8/176 No. 1/2 20.10.54 GV II Cottage row and shop, now house. C18 containing some earlier work. Painted brick ground floor and tile hung first floor with plain tiled roof. Two storeys and attic on plinth with half-hipped roof and stacks to rear right and rear left and 2 hipped dormers. Originally regular fenestration, now with four glazing bar sashes on first floor and three on ground floor with shop bay window to right. Paired boarded and now unused doors to left under single flat hood and paired half glazed doors to right under flat hood extended from shop bay fascia. Catslide outshot to rear. Interior: exposed late frame of poor scantling, although the outshot contains a jettied section with studded walling apparantly earlier in character, which may be part of the adjoining and earlier structure (item 8/178), the two buildings sharing a flying freehold.
