Description

LAMBERHURST TOWN HILL TQ 6635-6735 (north west side) 9/265 Walsinham, formerly called Hillside, with stable block attached GV II House and stable block attached. C16 or earlier, altered and extended C18-early C19. Timber framed and clad with painted brick on ground near and painted tile hanging on first floor and extended with painted brick and weather boarding, with exposed red brick and red tile hanging on return elevations. Plain tiled roofs. Probable hall house in origin. Home of 2 storeys and garret stepped up slope to left, with half- hipped roof with gablets, stepped down to left to 2 storey extension, with stacks to centre right and to left. Glazing bar sash and 2 wooden casements on first floor and 5 C20 casements on ground floor, with rebuilt motion to right (following removal of shop front). Catslide outshot to rear and present entry by glazed C20 porch in left return. Stable block attached to right. Two storeys canted to roadside with half-hipped roof. Boarded loft door and 2 shuttered openings on first floor and boarded door with wooden casement to right of it on ground floor. Listing NGR: TQ6739435957
