LAMBERHURST SCOTNEY TQ 63 NE 3/223 Walled Garden about 75 metres north west of Scotney Castle GV II
Walled garden. Circa 1840. Red brick with ashlar dressings. Large enclosed area, square in plan with the corners cut away, about 50 metres by 50. The walls are about 10 feet in height. To the centre of the east side (facing the C19 house) is the principal entry, with low wrought iron carriage gates hung from ball finialed piers. To the centre of the south side is a projecting ashlar door surround, now and perhaps always blocked; the west wall contains a sinilar red brick doorway. Glasshouses along north wall, with single storey sheds and bailer houses ranged along outside north wall. Part of Edward Eassey's works at Scotney.
