                            SANDHURST TQ82NW                     ETHNAM LANE 1350-0/6/198               Little Boxhurst 20/06/67                            II House. Late medieval open hall-house partly rebuilt, with outshut added and reclad in C18, extended in C20. Timberframed building, ground floor red brick, 1st floor weatherboarded. Tiled roof, hipped to left side with 2 brick chimneystacks. 2 storeys and attics; 5 windows. 1 gabled dormer. 5 C20 casements with leaded lights. C20 lean to extension to left and C18 outshut to rear, extended in C20. Interior has roll moulded spine beam and crenellated and roll-moulded end of hall beam. Open fireplace. William Crompton, the model for Richmal Compton's William books lived here for some time.
