TR 03 NE SMEETH LILY VALE (south side) 4/129 Lily Vale Farmhouse GV II House. C16 or earlier. Clad C18 and extended late C20. Timber framed and clad with ragstone, red and blue brick and tile hanging and extended with red brick and tile hanging. Plain tiled roofs. A lobby entry, or hall house, plan, extended to form L-shape, now with second C20 wing to form rectangular ground plan. Oldest, main range: two storeys and attic on ragstone base with hipped roof with gablets, 3 hipped dormers and stack to rear. Three light, 2 light and 1 light leaded wooden casements on 1st floor, and 2 glazed doors and wooden casement on ground floor. Entrance front: hip end of additional wing and C20 wing, with 6 panelled door with flat hood and sidelights and wooden casement over, with wooden casement and bay window to left in C20 wing. Interior: full frame visible, with beams and posts of large scantling in main range, with arched braced frame, and concave profile gunstock jowls to main posts. Clasped purlin roof with windbraces, possibly an alteration when the separately framed return wing, also with clasped purlin roof, was added; this wing with diamond set wooden mullioned window with shutter grooves, now internal; other window openings with shutter grooves. Inglenooks. Ceiling beams in kitchen with meat hooks.
