Description

TR 04 SE BRABOURNE LEES ROAD (west side) 4/20 Pemsey Farmhouse 27.11.57 GV II House. C16. Timber framed with plaster infill and plain tiled roof. Two and a half-bays, the building truncated to left, with cross- passage plan. Two storeys on ragstone plinth to large panel framing with continuous jetty, carried on moulded dragon post and returned to right return. Hipped roof with gablet to right and stack to right. Three wooden casements on each floor. Late C20 gabled timber porch to left incorporating earlier outshot. Two storey late C20 red brick wing to rear left. Original cross passage entry to right marked by break in ragstone plinth. Later, and now blocked, doorway to centre. Rear cross-passage door remains, with four centred arched and moulded surround with fern-leaf enrichment to spandrel. A second four-centred arched door remains, probably not in its original position, with the spandrels carved with scenes of dogs licking ladles and with head stuck in cooking pot.
