Description

TR 14 SW BRABOURNE THE STREET (south side) 5/37 The Five Bells GV II Public house. Late C18. Painted brick and plain tiled roof. Two parallel ranges, the rear one probably a later addition. Two storeys with brick dentil cornice to hipped roof with stack to end left. Three glazing bar sashes on 1st floor and 2 on ground floor with segmental heads. Central half-glazed double doors in glazed porch. Painted ragstone hipped crosswing at end left, with wooden casement and boarded, recessed door. Interior altered. Built as the Parish Poorhouse (see Igglesden, 10, 1913). Listing NGR: TR1002241939
