Description

1. 1715 EAST CROSS (West Side) Nos 15 / 17 (formerly listed as Yew Tree House & Miriam House) TQ 8833 1/89 8.5.50 II* GV 2. An C18 composition of 2 houses. 2 storeys and attics red brick and mathematical tile on 1st floor. Half-hipped roof with wooden eaves cornice. 4 gabled dormers. 6 sashes with glazing bars intact. No 17 has 2 small bay windows on the ground floor. No 15 has a flat hood over the door resting on carved brackets. No 17 has a porch with slender columns, segmental fanlight and 6-panel moulded door. No 17 has a wing behind at right angles to the front which is probably older than the front of the house. All the listed buildings on the West Side of East Cross form a group.
