Description
                            ROCHESTER          HIGH STREET TQ 7468 SW 9/73                                            No 124 (The Eagle                                                 Tavern) 23.8.74 GV                                              II Public house.  Early C19 re-fronting of an earlier (possibly C17) house.  Brick cladding to timber frame; Kent-tile hipped roof. Original plan uncertain; rear stack breaks catslide roof over outshut.  3-window range.  2-pane horned sashes in reveals under depressed brick arches.  Edwardian (or Edwardian style) ground floor public house frontage with moulded cornice and pilasters; this returns at canted corner entrance to link with a recessed gable ended range with large horned sash with margin panes under brick flat arch to  1st  floor.    Late C20  rear extensions. Interiors not fully inspected.
