Description
                            BIDDENDEN                       DASHMONDEN ROAD 1. 5272                                                 Washenden Manor TQ 83 NE 4/139 II 2. C16 or earlier timber-framed building with plaster infilling in the north-east wall but otherwise refronted with red brick and grey headers on the ground floor and tile hung above.  Two storeys and attics.  Half-hipped tiled roof with 2 gabled dormers.  Four casement windows with small square leaded panes. Pentice to rear of roof and L wing of sheds added.  The moat surrounding the house survives intact.  This was one of the original manors of Biddenden and a court was held here.  The manor was originally held by Battle Abbey.
