Description

1. 5272 GREAT CHART THE STREET (south-east side) The Village School TQ 9841 25/12 II 2. Dated 1845 and similar in style to The Almshouses (qv). Probably built by the Reverend William Toke of Godinton. T-shaped front with a long wing behind to the south-east. Ashlar. Tiled roof with shaped Dutch gable ends to the north-east and north-west wings, pointed gable end to the south-west wing. The north-west gable end contains an attic window, a cartouche with the date 1845 under it and a bell at its apex. Five windows. Small porch at the north-east angle with a shaped gable over.
