Description

1. 5344 HIGH STREET (South Side) TR 0142 NW 1&2/13 No 67, 67A TR 0042 NE 1&2/l3 13.2.75. No 69 TR 0042 NE 2/13 No 71 II GV 2. These 3 properties extend through to the north side of the Churchyard and so have 2 main elevations in differing styles. The High Street elevation of No 67 is late C18 to early C19. 3 storeys stuccoed. Hipped slate roof. 1 window. Sash to 2nd floor with glazing bars intact and 3 light canted bay to lst floor with glazing bars missing. Later shop front. Side elevation tile hung. No 69 is an C18 facade to a timber-framed building on the High Street elevation. 2 storeys painted brick. Renewed tiled roof. Eaves cornice. 2 sashes with glazing bars intact, 1 of which is a double. Later C19 shop front and doorcase to the west of it with a door of 6 fielded panels the top 2 panels cut away and glazed. Chamfered beams to interior. The High Street elevation to No 71 is late C18 to early C19. 3 storeys stuccoed. Parapet with moulded coping. Hipped slate roof. 1 3-light canted bay with verticals only through upper floors. Modern shop front. The backs facing the Churchyard, part of which is numbered 67A, comprise a timber-framed building with partly over-hanging lst floor to No 71 but refaced with red brick or stucco on the ground floor and tile-hung above. 2 storeys and attics. Steeply pitched tiled roof with 3 hipped dormers. 4 windows in all. Same sashes and some casements with sane glazing bars intact. Singe doorcases. Nos 51 to 61 (odd). 61A, 63 to 67 (odd). 67A, 69 to 71 (odd). 75 and the rear part of 75 form a group with all items in The Churchyard. Listing NGR: TR0099242783
