Description
1. 5272 GREAT CHART THE STREET (north-west side) Court Lodge TQ 9741 24/20 17.9.52. II* 2. A mediaeval C13 stone house altered C17 to C18. Two storeys and attics stone rubble with red brick window dressings and quoins, patched with brick in places. Very steeply-pitched hipped roof with smoke louvres 2 gabled dormers. Four casement windows with wooden mullions and transoms. Stone porch at the south-west angle of the front with pointed stone doorway, having a dripstone over it and above a timbered gable with red brick infilling. Brick chimney breasts on the north wall. Side elevation has trefoil-headed window. Bricked-in stone archway to rear. The interior contains panelling and a panel of 12 carved relief heads, perhaps brought from Godinton Park.
