Description

1. 1715 APPLEDORE ROAD (North East Side) Gibbet Oak Farmhouse TQ 93 SW 6/156 II 2. This farmhouse derives its name from the oak once used as a gibbet which still stands in the grounds. The core of the house is timber-framed but it has been sandwiched between 2 later wings. The front elevation is Mid C19. 2 storeys red brick with grey headers. Central gable with bargeboards. Tiled roof. 3 sashes with glazing bars intact and hipped weatherporch. The left side elevation has 3 hips. The centre portion is timber-framed with 1 original window space. The other windows are casements. 1 carved wooden bracket. The rear elevation is of 2 storeys. The ground floor is of brick, the 1st floor is tile-hung. 3 sashes and 1 dormer. The right side elevation is of brick with a tile-hung 1st floor and a timber-framed gable to each portion. Chamfered beams in the lounge. Listing NGR: TQ9093432560
