House. Dated 1742 by owner. Red Flemish bond brick with brick party wall stack, roof not visible. STYLE: Early Georgian. PLAN: double-depth. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and basement; 2-window range. A parapeted front with a rendered parapet, small left-hand segmental-arched passage doorway with door with 6 flush panels; to the right is a good large doorcase with pilasters to an entablature with triglyphs and modillion cornice, and door with 6 raised and 2 glazed panels. Rubbed brick flat arches to horned 2/2-pane sashes. INTERIOR: contains an entrance hall with left-hand dogleg stair, 6-panel doors and panelled shutters. HISTORY: Prospect Row was built between 1705 and 1756. Part of a good mixed terrace of early-mid Georgian houses. (MacDougall P: The Chatham Dockyard Story: Rainham: 1987-: 66).
