Description

1. 5275 BOWLING STREET (West Side) No 7 (Richborough House) TR 3258 1/25 19.5.50. II* GV 2. Late C16 timber framed house with 1st floor over-hanging on bressummer but refronted in the C18. 2 storeys and attic. 4 windows on ground floor, 2 windows on 1st floor. One modern dormer with glazing bars. Front plastered but the plaster cut away in a square in the centre of the 1st floor and showing framing with brick infilling. Sash windows. Glazing bars intact. Wooden shutters on ground floor. C18 doorway with pilasters, rectangular fanlight 6-panel door and flat hood over attached to the bressummer but projecting beyond it. The exposed square of framing is over this. North side wall of stone rubble and flints with brick gable and brick kneelers with one blocked in C16 window. No I (Water Lane House) Bowling Cottage and Nos 3 to 7 (odd) with Nos 1 to 5 (odd) Vicarage Lane form a group. Listing NGR: TR3292358315
