Description

GILLINGHAM TQ76NE MEDWAY ROAD, Brompton 686-1/7/25 (South East side) 21/12/73 No.20 GV II House. Early C19. Yellow stock brick with stone dressings, lateral stack and a slate hipped roof. STYLE: Italianate. PLAN: double-depth. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and basement; 3-window range. Overhanging eaves, windows set in shallow vertical recesses, and rubbed brick arches; steps up to a right-hand segmental-arched doorway in a matching recess with a plate-glass fanlight, and door with 2 tall raised panels, round-arched ground-floor windows and flat-headed first-floor windows, with 6/6-pane sashes. 2 small basement windows. INTERIOR: has an elliptical hall arch to a right-hand dogleg stair, panelled shutters, and 6-panel doors. One of a group of similarly styled houses on Medway Road (qv). Listing NGR: TQ7715769181
