TR 24 NW DENTON AND WOOTTON CANTERBURY ROAD (east side) 1/30 The Old Rectory 22.8.62 GV II House. C16 and C18. Rendered and painted brick, with plain tiled roof. Two storeys and attic on plinth, with plat band and moulded paired modillion eaves cornice to half-hipped roof with stacks to end left and end right and to centre right and with 3 flat roofed dormers. Original early C18 block with regular fenestration of 2 glazing bar sashes on first floor with central round headed sunk panel, and 4 glazing bar sashes on ground floor, with central door of 6 fielded panels with traceried rectangular fanlight and open pediment on consoles. Extended to right by 1 bay, with 1 sash on each floor, continuing plinth, plat and cornice across facade. Rear left: recessed 2 storey coachhouse, with hipped roof and 2 glazing bar sashes on each floor. Interior: rear wing with exposed inglenook, and wooden mullioned window, now internal, chamfered ceiling joists, and possibly timber framed in origin. Three storey dog leg stair, with turned balusters and dado panelling. Simple dado panelling in rooms, and archways in corridors with pilaster and impost supports. Listing NGR: TR2157747273
