GV II
Includes: Moor Street House SEYMOUR ROAD.
Farmhouse. Mid-late C18, extended early C19. Flemish bond
brick with gable and ridge stacks, tiled roof, half hipped to
the rear.
PLAN: 2-room plan with rear extension.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 5-window range. Double-fronted with a
corbelled eaves cornice, left-of-centre doorway has an
architrave and flat canopy, 6-panel door and 3-pane overlight;
segmental arched heads to 6/6-pane sashes; gables have a
2-centre arched attic casement behind the stack.
Left-hand rear C19 wing is a 2-window range with an end
lean-to, an off-centre entrance with 6-panel door, the top
pair glazed with a flat canopy, ground-floor tripartite sashes
and first-floor mullion casements. Rear of front range has a
large hipped stair tower, and a small dormer with cambered
head.
INTERIOR: has a collar truss roof and a dogleg stair.
The asymmetrical front fenestration and entrance and the large
stair tower suggest an earlier build, although no conclusive
evidence for this was found.
