Description

NONINGTON CHERRYGARDEN LANE TR 25 SE (north side) 3/117 Gooseberry Hall Cottage II Cottage pair, now house. Dated 1896. For William Oxenden Hammond. Design of George Devey. Dressed stone and red brick with blue diapers on ground floor and rendered above with exposed timber framed and tile hung gables.Plain tiled roof.St.Albans Court estate style. One storey and attic with continuous jetty on corbelled brackets with moulded bressumer with projecting double jettied gables to right and to left return and with 2 storey canted bay to centre left. Stacks projecting at end right and at front left. Oriel windows on both floors of gable to right and mullioned ground floor windows to bay. Four centred rib and stud door to centre right with side lights. Date roundel on first floor of bay inscribed ; W H 1896. Blocked O doorway in left side of right hand gable now with wooden casement. Operative contemporary iron hand pump to rear. Listing NGR: TR2698152866
