Description

SUTTON NAPCHESTER ROAD TR 34 NW (Northwest side) 7/100 Great Napchester Farmhouse 11.10.63 GV II House. Late C16 and late C18. Timber framed and clad with red brick, main elevation rendered. Plain tiled roof. Two storeys on plinth with plat band and hipped roof with gablet to left, and stacks to centre left and projecting and offset, with attached red brick end wall, to front end right. Two wooden casements to left and 3 glazing bar sashes on first floor, and 2 oriel windows to left and 2 glazing bar sashes on ground floor. Half-glazed door to centre right with pilaster and cornice surround. Right return: exposed frame jettied, with plaster infill and decorative ogee bracing on first floor. Interior: full frame visible, with very large central inglenook fireplace. The house is described in an inventory as "new" in 1583. Listing NGR: TR3109147347
