Description

DEAL TR 3753 SE MIDDLE STREET 2/352 No 108 II GV House and garage, formerly house shop and warehouse. 2 builds, left hand part C18 refronted c1840, right hand part early C19 altered late C19. Left hand part brick mainly rendered over, and the front rendered to imitate masonry, cemented chimneystack and pegtiled roof. 2 storeys and attics; one window to front. Left side rendered chimneystack. Modern flat roofed dormer. Parapet and deep moulded cornice. Mid C19 1st floor window with vertical glazing bars only in moulded architrave. Ground floor has mid C19 wooden shopfront with mouldedcornice, 4 wooden pilasters with incised elongated arched decoration and moulded cills. 2 shopfronts bisected by thin pillars. Rectangular fanlight to central door. At time of survey this comprised a C20 mahogany door with built in fanlight not in keeping. Rear elevation has an M-shaped brick gable and C18 cemented chimneystack. Attic window is 12 pane sash in moulded architrave. 1st floor window is 16 pane sash in moulded architraves. Right hand part appears to have originally been a warehouse. Painted brick (Flemish bond) with pegfiled roof. 2 storeys. 1st floor has 1 12-pane sliding sash and 4-flush-panelled loading door. Ground floor has late C19 4 folding doors, half-glazed and one sash without glazing bars. Rear elevation is of stock brick with 1 12-pane early C19 sash with horns. Hipped roof to rear.
