TQ 979 244 BROOKLAND BEACON, STREET (north side) 8/25 The Woolpack Inn 30.4.79 II Beacon-keeper's house, now inn. C16. Timber-framed and rendered, with plain tile roof. Hall, possibly originally open, of 2 unequal bays, with one storeyed bay to each end. 2 storeys on rendered plinth. Steeply pitched hipped roof. Brick ridge-stack off-centre to left and slender projecting brick stack to right end. Irregular fenestration, of two 2-light casements. Later C19 painted brick lean-to with slate roof to most of left half of front elevation, with boarded door with rectangular 3-light fanlight in right end of it. Rendered lean-tos with slate roofs to left end and rear. Interior: exposed beams and gun-stock-jowled posts. Common-rafter sans-purlin roof with morticed collars, with C20 roof superimposed.
