2. An early C19 house of high elevavation. 2 storeys red brick. Tiled roof with wooden eaves cornice. Pilasters of white brick flank the front. Modern shop fronts. Porch between these with Tuscan columns and open pediment. Doorcase with semi-circular fanlight and 6 panelled door. 2 large 3-light bay windows have been added on the lst floor. Segmental-headed window between with dressings of white brick. Glazing bars missing. Staircase with 2 balusters to each tread and curved tread ends.
Nos 38 & 40, St John's Priory, Nos 46 & 48 form a group.
