Description

TR 14 SE ACRISE 4/11 The Old Rectory 8.1.1975 II Rectory, now house. Late C18, with C19 and C20 alterations. Rendered, with slate roof. 2 storeys. Left section forms short cross-wing, projecting forwards slightly, with roof hipped to front. Plain, coped parapet to short central section. Right section breaks forwards slightly, with plain C20 parapet same height as that of central section, behind which roof is hipped to right and left, with short ridge. Rendered stack to left side of wing, and rear stacks to centre and right. Irregular fenestration of 6 recessed sashes with thin glazing bars; two large twelve-pane to front gable end of wing, two smaller twelve-pane to central section, and two sixteen-pane, set lower, to right section. Ground-floor windows of right section have narrow margin lights and rectangular fanlights. Ground floor of central section occupied by recessed Soaneian doorway comprising a half-glazed door with narrow margin lights, flanked by windows, also with narrow margin lights, all under attenuated segmental fanlight with thin glazing bars. Another similar, internal, doorway to rear of entrance lobby. Rendered single-storey addition with plain parapet, hipped slate roof and full-height canted bay with three tall recessed eight-pane sashes, projecting forwards to right gable end. Painted iron verandah with swept roof, to left side of left wing, said to have come from a house in Harbledown. Interior not inspected. Listing NGR: TR1970942905
