Description

TR 14 SE ACRISE 4/2 Former Stables at 27.8.52 Acrise Place GV II Stables, now domestic. Late C18, with early C19 additions, converted 1987. Red brick in Flemish bond. Plain tile roof. East-facing, running north from, and contiguous with, west end of late C18 brick addition to north range of Acrise Place. 2 storeys. Rendered plat band. Plain stone-coped parapet. Roof hipped to south, continuous with later additions to north. Five rear stacks. Regular 7-window front. Three central window bays break forwards slightly, with stone-coped triangular pediment surmounted by octagonal bell cupola with leaded ogee roof and weathervane. Oval clock face to pediment. Door with flush panels, rectangular three-light fanlight, and cambered head, to south end. Regularly-spaced doorways and windows to rest of facade on ground floor, all windows with splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. Two consecutive additions to north, the first red and grey brick in Flemish bond, the second red brick, both with plain tile roofs. Dentilled brick eaves cornice. Hip to north end. Carriage entrance with elliptical head towards south end of first addition. Two-light casements with top lights and segmental heads. Various doorways. Two single-storey rear brick additions. Staggered-butt-purlin roof without ridge-piece to first addition. Interior otherwise not inspected. Listing NGR: TR1984942818
