Swimming pool, disused. 1900s, by Colonel Sir H Pilkington RE. Red brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. Rectangular plan. N entrance gable has clasping crenellated towers linked by a recessed parapetted segmental-arched bridge with 4 light mullion window, and gable set back behind. Plain parapetted sides have buttresses and small windows. INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORY: One of the earliest barracks swimming pools, with the adjoining gym evidence of attempts to raise the physical quality of the navy at the end of the C19. Part of a complete naval barracks.
