Description

Constructed after 1868 at the W end of the ring of fort S of Rochester and Chatham. Irregular pentagon in plan, largely earthen battery with little flank defence. No caponniers. Commanding view across valley. Moat in good condition except on entrance side where filled in. Some dumping in the interior which is now used for farming.
