Description

QUEX PARK 1. 1380 BTRCHINGTON-0N-SEA Column in grounds of Quex Park TR 36 NW 9/288 II 2. This momument stood originally in the grounds at Kingsland, which belonged to Charles James Fox. When Kingsland was sold, the new owners, who had married into the Powell-Cotton family, brought it to Quex Park. The monument consists of a stone plain Corinthian column with a stone base, surmounted by an urn. It was erected to the memory of Margaret Kildare, Countess of Hilsborough who died at Naples in 1767.
