Description

KINGSGATE BAY ROAD 1. 5283 BROADSTAIRS Kingsgate Castle TR 37 SE 6/118 II 2. circa 1760 Lord Holland built a copy of a Welsh Edwardian castle to house his stables. This soon fell into ruin and the large round tower is all that remains of the original building. In the late C19 it was rebuilt by Lord Avebury. Quadrangular in shape. 2 to 3 storeys flint faced with stone long and short quoins and window dressings. Crenellated parapet. Windows are 3 light mullions. Listing NGR: TR3969070537
