2. Bungalow, since subdivided. 1881-82; one of the group of Tower Bungalows to the design of John Pollard Seddon. Stuccoed; west plinth of stone panels framed in brick; self-locking tile roof, except to south billiard room which has been re-roofed; roof descends low in west flank elevation over verandah which has access steps at N and S ends. Two chief rooms facing sea; central spine corridor; S billiard room; NW Tower. Sash windows with small panel at top and bottom except where stated. South end with three- light transomed window and a window in each return; five windows to E elevation and six or seven to W Tower with pyramidal roof and finial but altered, by insertion of mid or late C20 windows. N elevation with two wide canted bays merging into narrow central recess, with single pane windows inserted into centre lights of bays. Interior: retains 4 panel doors and decorated exposed beams to ceiling; billiard room with Queen post roof; NE and NW rooms each with segmental alcove in outer walls and both retain richly varigated marble fireplace surrounds, probably to Seddon's design. One of four bungalows by Seddon which in turn are amongst the earliest extant bungalows built in Britain in late C19. See Anthony D King, The Bungalow, 1984.
