Description

RAMSGATE ADDINGTON STREET TR 3764 NE (east side) 12/18 Nos. 16-18 (The Falstaff) GV II Public house. 1801-21, altered late C19. Stock brick with asbestos tiled roof. Two separate (private) houses in origin, both of 3 storeys with parapet, that to left, of 2 bays width, of greater height. Stacks to left, centre and end right. Two glazing bar sashes with gauged heads to left on 2nd floor, and 1 sash with cambered head to right. Tripartite bow with sunk panelled pilasters to left on 1st floor, and canted bay to right. Ground floor unified by single pub front, with heavy mullioned and transomed and panelled parts, that to right bowed, with 2 central half-glazed doors separated by large buttress, with fascia and cornice over whole front. The 2 original houses indicated as such on Collard and Hurst's 1821 plan of Ramsgate. Listing NGR: TR3796964627
