RAMSGATE BELLEVUE ROAD TR 3865 SE (west side) 10/61 No. 2 (The Iron Duke) and railed 11.7.78 area GV II Public house. 1816 and altered mid C19. Rendered. Three storeys with basement on plinth with parapet, cornice-and stacks to rear. Two sashes on 2nd floor in moulded surround with vermiculated keystone, and on cill brackets, and sash to left on 1st floor with canted bay with cornice to right with balcony with geometric patterned rails. Ground floor with 'pub front', with plate glass windows and moulded panels below, with small bay to left with double half-glazed doors, and projecting porch to right with double half-glazed doors and rectangular fanlight and arched side lights. Small railed area to right with ornate fleur-de-lys rails. Large tiered octagonal lamp with scrolled arching bracket. Left return with 2 sashes on 2nd floor, sash and raised sashes on 1st floor and central half-glazed door on ground floor with cornice on consoles. Interior: largely C20, but with moulded dado rail probably original. The public house was first rated as the Prince of Orange in 1816, its address then 15½ Bellevue Hill; sometime the Bellevue Tavern.
