HALSTEAD HALSTEAD 1. 5280 Church Road (West Side) Nos 1 & 2 (Village House Cottages) with stables to North, and attched wall. TQ 4861 14/494 II 2. Pair of cottages, probably C18 but with early C19 slate roof, hipped and of low pitch. Each 2 storeys, one window. Flint rubble walls with red brick quoins and dressings. Segmental brick arched to openings. C19 casements windows and plain plank doors. North return of 5 bays includes stable doors in 4th and 5th bays. Elevations otherwise in similar style to front but with top-hinged windows with glazing bars. From North-East corner a length of flint rubble screen wall with yard gates. Nos 1 and 2 (Village House Cottages) with stables to North, and attached wall shall be amended to read Nos 1 and 2 (Village House Cottages). The Coach House with attached wall.
