Description

1. 5280 CHEVENING BESSELS GREEN Bessels Green Road Bessels House TQ 5055 5/173 10.9.54. II 2. (Circa 1830). Built by Dr Epps, famous Homeopathic doctor in the early C19. The front elevation is symmetrical with 2 large Regency bow fronts containing curved sash windows in panelled frames on principal and first floors. The centre projecting porch with Doric columns has been altered to include small cloakroom at side of door. Over the porch is a small canopied projection with stucco finish. Stone cornice and parapet with concealed mansard roof of Welsh slate with 3 small dormers. ½-basement with area in front of bow window at left. At right a small terrace conceals basement. 6 steps to door. At left and right mid C19 1 storey wings, of galletted random rubble, that on left with battlemented parapet and 2 brick niches; that on right with low pitched slated roof. Gothick pointed windows with margin lights on return and behind. Listing NGR: TQ5066655468
