Description

1. 5280 CHIDDINGSTONE CHIDDINGSTONE High Street (South Side) No 2 TQ 5045 7/197 lO.9.54. II GV 2. Early Cl8 elevation masking Cl6 framed structure. Continuous ridge roof with No 1. 2 storeys. Brick with blue headers. Brick plinth and band. End projecting brick pilasters. Moulded wooden eave board and gutter supported on brackets. Symmetrical elevation with centre panelled door with moulded jambs and projecting hood over. On either side a casement window contained under segmental arch of end headers. 1 small slit light to right and small recessed panel to left to match. 1st floor. Centre brick panel over door, a casement window either side. 1 small slit light over panel below and brick panel over slit light to effect symmetry. Diamond paned casements throughout. To rear. Ridge tile roof brought down as lean-to with small hip tiled dormer. Nos 1 to 4 (consec), No 6, The Castle Inn and the Gate to Chiddingstone Castle form a group. Listing NGR: TQ5010145158
