KEMSING HEAVERHAM 1. 5280 The Chequers Public House TQ 5758 18/593 II 2. C18 with possibly earlier core. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Half hipped tiled galletted coursed rubble masonry with plinth; and brick band. Brick dressings. Square paned casements, those on ground floor under segmental brick arches. At left 2-storey addition of brick with weather-boarded lst floor and moulded wood eaves cornice. Modern low addition to left and right, that on right leading to the restaurant, a small converted barn of C17, with all timber exposed inside. In house part a restored inglenook.
