Left section has half-hipped tile-hung gabled attic with large modern window. Centre section has high pitched tiled roof with 3 gabled modern dormers. Shallower right part almost entirely rebuilt. Painted brick. 1st floor band and basement plinth to centre part. 1-storey projection at right of central door. All windows replaced sashes with glazing bars except 3-window Venetian-like group at ground floor left; and early C19 sashes with bars in right part. Also in right part early C19 door, with patterned fanlight, in reproduction wood doorcase. Late C19 door, under flat hood, in centre. House was once the home of Bishop Porteus of Chester whom William Pitt made Bishop of London in 1787, He died in 1809 and is buried at Sundridge. One of the many scandalous pluralists of that time.
